Where can I download Share price data

Answer

On campus:

Datastream or Bloomberg are probably easiest. They both have Excel add-ins which are available on the PC's in the Sammy Ofer Centre Finance Suite (SO.W2.01 and .02). They are offer long time-series of daily closing price data for quoted companies worldwide. Alternatively within the Bloomberg terminal, find your Equity and go to page HP

See attached files for instructions.

Off campus:

FactSet is an option if you have already registered for access.

S&P Capital IQ Chartbuilder feature also allows downloading of data to Excel. 30 years+ daily data for some companies.

FAME (UK) and Orbis (European) both offer 2 years of daily price data, 1 year of weekly and monthly data back to Jan 2007.

Mergent has up to 30 years of daily data for some US companies, but less for other countries e.g. found 18 years of data for UK company.

Factiva offers 2 years of daily data, 5 years of weekly and 5 years of monthly data.
